Installed in March 2025, and running alongside iColor’s HP digital web press, the new finishing equipment includes right angle folding, slitting, mail table with card tipping and plow folding as well as the CC23, MBO’s rotary contour cutting module for enhanced direct mail and specially shaped cards. iColor has more than doubled their capacity by dramatically cutting manual setup steps and accelerating time-to-market for service-based, healthcare, retail, luxury brand, and casino marketing campaigns.
“The new MBO finishing line has been a game changer,” said Alice Zumstein, VP of Sales at iColor Printing. “Our sales team is beyond ecstatic—these machines unlock direct-mail and postcard opportunities we simply couldn’t deliver before, giving us a unique competitive edge on the West Coast.”
Key benefits realized by iColor include:
- Dramatically Improved Efficiency: Eliminated multiple manual touchpoints and reduced makeready times.
- New Business Opportunities: Enabled high-impact direct mail, variable data campaigns, and luxury finishes.
- Rapid Ramp-Up & Reliability: Production teams report minimal downtime and fast operator training
- West Coast Differentiation: Unique inline finishing capabilities are attracting new customers, from plumbing and HVAC services to high-end retailers and casino marketers.
“We’re seeing massive demand for targeted postcard and self-mailer campaigns—sometimes in the millions of pieces—and MBO’s precision finishing makes it all possible,” added Zumstein. “Clients appreciate the speed, flexibility, and creativity we can now offer.”
Looking ahead, iColor anticipates continued strong demand for its expanded suite of finishing services and is exploring additional digital web presses and MBO line expansions to keep pace with market growth.
