MBO Announces The New A80 Automated Stacking Delivery

A80
THE NEW SIGNATURE DELIVERY FROM MBO FOR INDUSTRIAL, NETWORKED PRINT FINISHING

MBO Postpress Solutions GmbH, and MBO America continue to expand their portfolio with the addition of a powerful, new, signature delivery module; the A80. Once again, innovation award winner MBO, steps up to meet the requirements of customers in the commercial print industry of today. The main focus of the A80 is on the production and processing speed of folding machines in a networked environment. The innovative control system allows universal operation from folder feeder thru delivery. This consistent control and operating philosophy, ensures that the folder and delivery can be controlled at each individual machine display. For example, the folding machine can be operated from the delivery area and vice versa, reducing time and physical activity. Furthermore, the A80 can be installed behind manual or automatic folding machines, and in conjunction with all MBO or other brand folders.

The A80 can seamlessly connect to all of MBO’s advanced software, including Datamanager 4.0 and RAS Remote Access Service. It can be networked into any commonly used MIS system on the customer’s premises. Datamanager 4.0 helps analyze and increase productivity, and RAS helps minimize service costs and possible downtimes.

The A80 can also integrate to the new Autopilot feature on MBO folding machines. If there is a single pallet with several of the same signature forms with different SKU’s from the same job, the feeder of the folding machine can detect a change in signature SKU and alert the A80 delivery to run until end of batch. The A80 will then restart the new SKU after creating a space buffer between two stacks of signatures. The additional spacing alerts the operator to the signature change allowing them to react accordingly.

To truly take advantage of all the A80 and MBO automation software has to offer, integrating the CoBo-Stack collaborative palletizing robot from MBO, closes the loop. The robot can also integrate to the folders Autopilot process for the change of signature. In this case, the CoBo-Stack automatically deposits the next signature on another pallet, or alternatively, uses only half of the pallet for the first signature, and the other half for the second signature. For the operator, the use of collaborative robot technology means a huge reduction in the physical workload in combination with great efficiency. It gives the operator more time to concentrate on administrative tasks and next job makeready tasks; even so far as to run two machines with one operator! Gone is the worry of the operator being over-run by the high speed of a new folding machine!

The A80 can be operated both in single-sheet and in shingle stream mode. Single sheet mode allows mark free processing of even sensitive or freshly printed products. Jogger devices ensure high quality stacks. Final count stacks are pushed out to an ergonomically convenient delivery table. Thanks to easy access and intelligent automation, set-up is quick and simple.

The A80 can be viewed live online during the Alliance Days, November 24 to 27, 2020. A virtual platform will allow interested parties to view this and other machines from the comfort of their own offices. In addition, there will be virtual and physical live demonstrations for which visitors can register in advance. Online registration is now possible on the website www.postpressalliance.com. An informative, exciting, emotional and personal event – this is the declared aim of the Alliance Days. Join us there!
